Harry Montgomery, F336413
Harry was elected as national vice president, Rocky Mountain Area, in 2011. He and his wife, Susan, joined FMCA in 2003. Harry served as a member of the Long-Range and Development Committee from 2009 to 2011, including as chairman for 2011-2012. He currently is serving as chairman of the Governmental and Legislative Affairs Committee, as well as a member of the Convention Committee. He also was a member of the Nominating Committee, serving as chairman from March 2011 to August 2011.
Harry also has served as president of the Arizona chapter and most recently as national director. The Montgomerys are also active members of eight other FMCA chapters: Anasazi, Full Timers, Elk International, Beat the Odds, Beaver Ambassador Club, and One Hundred Plus.
Harry volunteered as a parking crew captain at the Western Area Rally, as well as parking captain and golf tournament captain at the Rocky Mountain Area Rally. His other volunteer activities have included handicap trams, security, seminars, greeter, and designing parking layouts for numerous venues.
For the Rocky Mountain Motorhome Association (RMMA), Harry served four years (2006-2010) as a region vice president, with duties in rally entertainment, food service, and activities. Some of his accomplishments in the position include upgrading first-timer programs, food service, and entertainment, and adding a variety of rally activities. He also developed a vendor partnership program, and designed and developed a Web page for the RMMA.
Harry's career background includes 40 years of business experience, with 20-plus years in manufacturing and as a business owner. He has been involved in industrial engineering; production, purchasing, and plant management; business accounting; sales and marketing; and contract negotiations. He also spent nine years in the U.S. Air Force and earned 130 university credit hours in night school.
Harry and Susan have three children and seven grandchildren.
