FMCA Experience: Joined FMCA in 1998. Charter member of North Alabama RV'ers in 2003 and served as 1st Vice President and President. Attended International Conventions in Perry, GA, in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011; Bowling Green, OH, in 2009; Redmond, OR, in 2010; and Madison, WI, in 2011. Volunteer in Perry in clothing booth in 2005 & 2007, seminars volunteer in 2009, and Captain of Early Security in 2011 in Perry, GA. After retirement attended first Brooksville, FL, rally in 2011 and volunteered in Security. Served as Security Captain in 2012. Was elected FMCA Alabama Regional VP for the Southeast Area for 2011-2012 and attended rallies and meetings for all Alabama FMCA Chapters. Re-elected in 2013 as Alabama Regional VP. s Vice President, portfolio included Security, Safety, and Entertainment; presently member of the following FMCA Chapters: Coaches for Christ Southeast, North Alabama RV'ers, North Alabama Travelers (NATS), Central Alabama Travelers (CATS), Elk International, Diesel RV Club (Formally CAT RV Club), Freightliner Chassis Owners Club, and Charter member of FMCA Friendship Chapter, presently serving as National Director; currently Rally Host for the 2013 Friendship rally. I have recruited over 50 members for FMCA.
Other Experiences: People skills with 31 years management experience, Sears, Roebuck, & Co. and 13 years as a Real Property Appraiser working as an owner and later as an appraiser for Madison County, Alabama. Served as President of Huntsville Jaycees and received the Walt Weisman Award of Excellence as most outstanding Jaycee President in the State of Alabama; received Bill J. Dukes Award from the Decatur Jaycees for outstanding participation in volunteering time to such causes as March of Dimes, Leukemia Foundation, and serving on the Kidney Foundation Board. After serving in all capacities of Jaycee local offices was elected District Vice President and Internal Vice President of the Alabama Jaycees and later elected as US Jaycee National Director; was awarded a JCI Senatorship (Lifetime member of US Jaycees International); member of the Huntsville, AL, Chamber of Commerce; Past member of Metropolitan Kiwanis Club of Huntville - served as Secretary receiving the distinguished Secretary Award; served as President of Metro Kiwanis receiving the Excellent Presidential Award as a Local Outstanding President. Active member of Elks - Huntsville Lodge # 1648. I am a Mason and a member of Shriners International (Huntsville, Alabama, Cahaba Shrine Temple); Named 4-H Volunteer Leader for the State of Alabama in 2010.
Education: Attended the University of Alabama and received a BS Degree in Business Management from Athens State University. Member of Faith Presbyterian Church - Served as Deacon and Elder was a member of Camp Maranatha Board (a Presbyterian Family Life Center and Camping Facility), a Sunday School Teacher and Senior High Leader. Married to Betty H. Duncan - two children - five grandchildren.
Interests and Activities: I have a vegetable garden each year and love camping with my wife and grandchildren. I also enjoy attending their volleyball, baseball, and basketball games.
