With the support of my wife, Charlotte, I am a Candidate for Western Area President/National Vice President Western Area. I am presently serving as Senior Vice President of Western Area, and National Director for the California Coasters, and I served on the National 50th Anniversary Committee. I have served the last two years as Co-Rally Master of the Western Area Indio Rally and negotiated all the service contracts for the last three years. I had the privilege of serving as President of the California Coasters for four years from 2005 – 2008. Charlotte & I helped them grow from a chapter of around 50 family coaches to a membership of over 100. I also served as Wagon Master for the California Coasters. I served as Team Captain for Handicap Trams at the Indio rally for 3 years. We have worked in Security and Information at both Area and National Rallies in Oklahoma City, OK, Pomona, and Indio, CA. I have served as Rally Master for 3 years at our annual Spring Time in the Oaks Rally where we brought together over 60 RV’s from several different chapters. I have planned and served as trail boss for many chapter rallies and several long traveling chapter trips like Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta and Pasadena Rose Parade.
We joined FMCA in May of 2000 just before I retired from the wholesale hardware business in December of the same year. We then full-timed for about 3 years before moving to Santa Maria, CA, where we now live, to be close to our two sons & grandchildren. We are currently a member of the California Coasters, California Heartland, Apollo Amigos, and Elk International Chapters of FMCA. I have been an Elk for 45 years, and I am the Past President of Santa Maria Rams (Retired Active Men).
After being discharged from the Army in 1960 as an E6 Staff Sergeant, I spent the next 40 years in the retail and wholesale hardware business. I managed retail stores until 1969 and then transferred to the wholesale side of the business as a District Sales Manager. In 1975, I was promoted to Regional Sales Manager. My wife, Charlotte, and I have shared 57 years of marriage. She has supported and worked with me in all of my endeavors. I am a team player who is goal oriented and has the ability and drive to get the job done. It would be an honor and a privilege to serve as Western Area President & National Vice President Western Area. I believe I have the experience and ability to be a successful leader of the Western Area and a contributing member at the National level of FMCA. I would appreciate your vote and support.
You won’t be receiving any promises I won’t keep while asking for your vote for this position. What you will receive is my word that I will continue to work for the betterment of the Association, as I have in the past. I am proud to belong to FMCA and would be honored to serve as your President & National Vice President. Thank you.
